Biography
Born in 1969 in Paignton, Devon, one time atheist Peter Cavanna grew up wanting to work in the entertainment world, staging his own comedy revue shows in Torquay by the age of eighteen. Stumbling somewhat accidentally into an evangelistic meeting being held in the same theatre, Peter heard the Gospel of Jesus and was powerfully converted to Christ overnight.
In February 1989, he received the baptism of the Holy Spirit under the ministry of evangelist George Miller and was called into full time Christian service. After spending twelve months working for the local church, tasting every aspect of the ministry, he arrived for training at Mattersey Hall. Within a few months, he was miraculously healed from epilepsy, a disease which had been troubling him several times a month since his teenage years.
Returning home in 1994, Peter spent Saturday mornings teaching the New Testament and ran a youth club on Friday evenings, a group that experienced a wonderful outpouring of God's Spirit. In 1995, he joined a church planting team in Torquay and served as an Assistant Pastor for five years. At the invitation of Dr Glenn Balfour, Peter arrived in Cambridge in the autumn of 2000 and began developing what has become King's Church in Cambridge.
In June 2005, the church held a series of special meetings with evangelist John Mellor. This proved to be a divine catalyst to a fresh release of miracles, occurring firstly in the Cambridge church and then further afield. News of God's healing power hit the front pages of the Cambridge Evening News, as well as several Christian and secular periodicals. Today, the demand for the healing anointing has launched Peter into a significant travelling ministry and he has the joy of seeing Jesus perform miracles everywhere. In November 2007, he began visiting Brazil where he has seen literally hundreds of healings. In 2008, he witnessed God's power in Malta and in Poland. Perhaps most important of all, the wonders continue to manifest themselves at home in Britain, both on itinerant and as part of the pastoral ministry.
